The author and the journal apologise for an error that occurred in the paper by Kauhanen et al. in the March 2009 issue of Endocrine-Related Cancer 16 255–265 entitled ‘The clinical value of [¹⁸F]fluoro-dihydroxyphenylalanine positron emission tomography in primary diagnosis, staging, and restaging of neuroendocrine tumors’. The error relates to a numerical error in the text on page 256, in the second paragraph under the heading ‘[¹⁸F]DOPA PET–CT and PET technique’. The number of scans acquired from the PET–CT scanner was 67 not 70, and the number of scans acquired from the GE Advance was 26 not 33. The paragraph appears in full below:

The [¹⁸F]DOPA PET scans were acquired using PET–CT (Discovery PET–CT; General Electric Medical Systems, Milwaukee, WI, USA; n=67) and GE Advance (General Electric Medical Systems; n=26) scanners. [¹⁸F]DOPA PET was synthesized according to previously described methods (Bergman et al. 1994). The average administered dose of [¹⁸F]DOPA was 234±56 MBq.
